Jeffrey M. Trissell, a distinguished civil and appellate litigator, serves as Special Counsel for the Thomas More Society. The vast majority of his legal practice is devoted to constitutional rights, including First Amendment litigation, political redistricting, defamation, and education rights, with respect to which he has received multiple seven-figure attorneys’ fees awards.

Trissell has briefed many appeals and writs in both California and federal court, resulting in numerous published opinions, including in California’s Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Appellate Districts, the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Collectively, those published appellate opinions have been cited by other courts more than 900 times.

Additionally, Trissell is active in local bar associations. For several years he served on the board of, and was later elected the President of, the St. Thomas More Society of San Diego. He has also served on the board of Children of the Immaculate Heart, a nonprofit that assists victims of human trafficking. Since 2020, Trissell has been annually recognized by Super Lawyers San Diego. Trissell resides in San Diego with his wife and two children.
