Steve Crampton

Biography

Steve Crampton is a seasoned constitutional attorney and Senior Counsel at Thomas More Society. With decades of experience litigating cases from state supreme courts to the U.S. Supreme Court, he is a passionate advocate for civil liberties. Hailing from Tupelo, Mississippi, where he resides with his family, he earned his B.A. from St. John’s College and his law degree from the University of New Mexico, launching his career upon admission to the Texas Bar in 1985.

Crampton served as Chief Counsel for the American Family Association’s Center for Law & Policy and Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel for Liberty Counsel, where he championed religious freedom and traditional values. Known for his compelling courtroom presence, he has advised state and federal legislators, including U.S. Congressmen, on crafting and defending influential legislation. His current work with Thomas More Society focuses on high-stakes cases such as defending pro-life advocates against federal FACE Act and "Conspiracy Against Rights" charges.

A frequent media commentator, Crampton has appeared on The O’Reilly Factor, Hannity, Fox & Friends, ABC, NBC, CNN, and countless radio programs, offering sharp insights on relevant constitutional issues.
