In April 2025, Savannah Craven Antao, a pro-life advocate and social media influencer, was brutally assaulted by Brianna Rivers while filming a "woman-on-the-street" interview for Live Action in Manhattan. As Savannah civilly and peacefully shared her faith-based pro-life views, Rivers, unprovoked, struck her multiple times in the face, causing a laceration that sent her to the emergency room for stitches and $3,000 in medical bills. The attack, captured on video, went viral, leading to Rivers' arrest for second-degree assault. Yet, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office inexplicably downgraded the charge to a misdemeanor and later dismissed it entirely after missing a critical discovery deadline, leaving Savannah without justice.

Thomas More Society attorneys stepped in to represent Savannah, announcing a civil lawsuit against Rivers to seek damages, including punitive, for the violent act. After national backlash, Bragg's office issued an apology on October 6, 2025, admitting an "unacceptable error." Thomas More Society urged refiling felony or hate crime charges, as the assault targeted Savannah's pro-life beliefs. On October 8, Bragg's office rejected this path without clear reasoning, doubling down on its refusal to prosecute. Thomas More Society will proceed with a lawsuit in civil court against Brianna Rivers.
