Thomas More Society Responds to Sentencing of Pro-Life Spiderman, Maison DesChamps

DesChamps was charged following a February 2024 climb of the Sphere in Las Vegas, undertaken to raise funds for a pregnant mother facing homelessness

Las Vegas, NV - Thomas More Society issued a statement following the sentencing of pro-life advocate Maison DesChamps, known as Pro-Life Spiderman, in connection with a 2024 climb in Las Vegas.

In February 2024, DesChamps scaled the Las Vegas Sphere to raise money for a pregnant mother with no financial resources who was on the verge of homelessness and had scheduled an abortion due to financial strain. The climb successfully raised enough funds to keep the mother off the street, and the unborn child was carried to term.

Thomas More Society Special Counsel Sean Sullivan, who is representing DesChamps, commented on the outcome:

“We zealously represented Maison DesChamps and ensured the court had a full understanding of the purpose behind his actions, including his noble and successful efforts to raise funds for pregnant mothers,” said Sullivan. “We will continue to evaluate next steps in light of this outcome and review available legal options.”

DesChamps, known for publicly scaling buildings in support of pregnant women in need and to raise awareness of pro-life issues, was sentenced on a misdemeanor charge to 45 days in jail, which he is currently serving. As part of his sentence, the court ordered Des Champs to pay $77,000 in damage to the Sphere that Thomas More Society argues he did not cause. Because he was denied a proper trial on that issue, justice was not served.

DesChamps’ wife is seven months pregnant with the couple’s child. Those wishing to support DesChamps and his growing family during this time can do so at https://v2.givesendgo.com/help-prolife-spiderman.
